PTNS

Posterior Tibial Nerve Stimulation is a therapy treatment we provide here at Pelvic Health & Wellness Center that aims at reversing the abnormal simulation of the nerves that supply the bladder and pelvic floor. Bladder and pelvic floor muscle function is coordinated by the sacral nerves in the lower part of the spinal cord.

PTNS is a 3rd line therapy, following behavioral therapy and medications. Technicians administer this treatment under the direction and supervision of a physician within our practice. This treatment is for patients who experience urinary urgency, frequency and/or urge incontinence.

 

The treatment plan is an established protocol based on research for these symptoms. Patients will receive treatment 1x/week for 12 consecutive weeks with monthly visits following, based on progress following the initial 12 weeks.
